Placing an ad is reserved for UBA members. Read the rules before you start.
1. Log in and open your flea market
Log in with your callsign and password. In My account, open the Flea market tab: it lists your ads and how many of them are online, out of a maximum of 10.
2. Place the ad
Click Place an ad and fill in:
- For sale or wanted: whether you offer something or are looking for it.
- Category and condition.
- Title: brand and model, for instance "Icom IC-7300".
- Description: condition, accessories, where to pick it up, whether you can ship. Line breaks are kept. No e-mail address or phone number here: buyers contact you through the site.
- Price: a fixed price, a negotiable price (with or without an amount), "make an offer", "exchange" or "free".
- Phone (optional): in international format, for instance +32 495 12 34 56. Only members see it.
- Photos: up to 4, JPEG, PNG or WebP, at most 5 MB each. The first photo is the main photo, shown in the list; drag the photos to change their order. The site reduces large photos and removes their hidden data, such as the GPS position and the camera model.
Tick that you accept the rules and click Publish. Your callsign is added to the ad automatically.
3. Members first
Your ad is visible to logged-in members at once, and to all visitors one day later.
4. Answering buyers
A buyer writes to you through the form on your ad. You receive the message by e-mail at the address the UBA has for you; simply reply to that e-mail to answer the buyer. Your address is never shown on the site. You also find the messages of each ad under My account › Flea market, in case an e-mail went astray. Is your e-mail address out of date? Tell the members administration through the contact form.
5. Managing your ads
In the Flea market tab of My account:
- Edit: change the text, the price or the photos. The ad keeps its place in the list.
- Extend: in the last 7 days before an ad expires, for another 90 days. You receive a reminder by e-mail.
- Republish: an expired ad, for a new period of 90 days. It starts again at the top of the list.
- Sold: the ad shows "Sold" for 7 days, then disappears. Buyers can no longer write to you.
- Withdraw: the ad disappears immediately.
Attention! Not everybody is as honest as you
From time to time we receive complaints from radio amateurs who bought equipment through the flea market that, according to the seller, was in perfect working order. Some time ago two friends bought five Kenwood 23 cm transceivers from a radio amateur. Back home, not one of them transmitted. The seller answered "sold is sold", adding that they should have tested them on the spot — which is true. Good advice: never buy second-hand equipment without trying it first in the presence of the seller.
