This year, the event takes place on 15 November. It is the largest annual science event in Flanders and Brussels, during which universities, colleges, museums, research institutes, numerous companies and associations open their doors to the general public. The aim is to enable people to discover science and technology in an accessible, interactive and, above all, engaging way. Read all about it on this website.
What’s on?
Visitors can, amongst other things, take part in:
- Experiments and workshops: carrying out experiments yourself and learning about scientific techniques.
- Demonstrations and guided tours: a glimpse behind the scenes at laboratories, universities and research institutes.
- Talks and interactive activities: find out what’s happening in the fields of artificial intelligence, health, technology, natural sciences and much more.
- Activities for children and young people: a fun introduction to STEM — science, technology, engineering and maths.
Many activities are free, although advance registration or other practical conditions may apply for certain workshops.
The UBA’s NNV (Ninove) branch is taking part in Science Day in collaboration with the Ter Kammen Audio-Visual Museum.
