Extra info

Within the UBA, B-EARS volunteers spring into action during network outages. Trained in specialized terminology, equipment, and the five disciplines of emergency response, they practice working in a coordinated network in real-world scenarios to assist the authorities.

This training is open to all volunteers, regardless of their province or region.

Within the UBA, B-EARS brings together volunteer amateur radio operators who are ready to step in in the event of a major communication network failure.

To respond effectively alongside authorities and emergency responders, volunteers undergo a short training course:

this training helps them master the jargon used by emergency responders, optimize the use of portable or mobile equipment, and understand the organization of emergency response and the five response disciplines.

Practical simulations complement this training to refine their skills in coordinated network operations.
