The IARU Region 1 conference in Vienna is in full swing! Numerous proposals are being discussed, debated and put to the vote in the various committees and working groups.
Our UBA representatives attend all the party’s meetings. That means meetings from early in the morning until late at night! A packed agenda, then, during which we are fully committed to representing the interests of Belgian radio amateurs.
The debates are often particularly lively! In the various committees and working groups, proposals are discussed in depth and arguments for and against are regularly exchanged.
Once a proposal has been finalised in the committee or working group, the so-called papers are discussed further during the plenary session, which is the meeting of all IARU Region 1 associations present.
There, every association has the opportunity to cast its vote: in favour, against, or, where appropriate, to abstain. In this way, views are consolidated and decisions are taken which not only guide the future operations of IARU Region 1 but are also of great importance to the more than 100 national associations that make up IARU Region 1.
