On Saturday afternoon, March 30, the B-EARS LIE held its first exercise of the year.

The participating stations were in communication from their homes with the ON5TB central station. After an initial contact, Jean assigned them the points where the mobile stations were to go.

For some, the equipment had to be dismantled and made operational in the vehicle.

The radio operators went in pairs (an experienced om and a novice om) to the designated point.

Once there, the less experienced operator made the equipment operational and exchanged the signals received with Net Control (in the Crisis Center parking lot), as well as picking up other signals from other relay stations in the province.

Although a relay station was planned by ON3CED Cédric, electronic problems arose, forcing participants to switch to Plan B ... just like in a real-life situation.

For the duo scheduled at the Protection Civile de Crisnée, Noëlla ON3HNO and Jean-François ON4IJ, it was a pleasant surprise: in addition to their mission for the day, they were treated to a great demonstration of the ICM Cluster telecom vehicle at the Protection Civile.

The meeting with Mr. Moors ended with a promise to meet again to continue learning from each other.

First meeting at the UBA national congress 2024 for a demonstration open to all visitors.
