During the summer of 2014, a youth radio camp “Youngsters on the Air” will be held in Finland, organized by the Finnish Radio Amateur League.
During this week teams of young radio amateurs from 15 different European countries will be participating during different activities: presentations, competitions, visiting radio stations, workshops, ARDF etc…

20 years Eurotunnel

Twenty years ago, May 6 1994, the Channel Tunnel (Eurotunnel) was inaugurated.
A group of French amateurs set up the special event station TM5TSM (Tunnel sous la Manche).

The YASME foundation honors ON4UN

The Yasme Excellence Award is awarded to individuals who, through their own service, creativity, effort and dedication, have made a significant contribution to amateur radio. The contribution may be in recognition of technical, operating or organizational achievement, as all three are necessary for amateur radio to grow and prosper. The Yasme Excellence Award is in the form of a cash grant and an individually-engraved crystal globe.

Ham Vidéo: un émetteur D-ATV à bord de la Station spatiale internationale

- To be translated - In het jaar 2000 ontving ARISS het voorstel om een ATV systeem te installeren aan boord van het ISS, meer bepaald in de Columbus module die men toen aan het ontwerpen was. In de loop van de volgende jaren werd dit project verder uitgewerkt en ook aanvaard door ESA. De eerste hindernis die hierbij moest genomen worden was het ontwerpen, bouwen en plaatsen van de geschikte antennes aan de buitenzijde van de Columbus module.

Results IARU R1 50 MHz Contest

The results of the IARU R1 contest are out. The first Belgian station is ON8DM on the 45th place Mono Operator and OP6T/P on the 67th place (multi).
We can do better this year? just GO FOR IT. Contesting on VHF is also fun.

Morse code on the sky

On December 12/13 FITSAT-1 will be using its optical LED beacon to flash a message in Morse Code over the USA and Europe which may be visible to the unaided eye although binoculars are advised. NIWAKA's high power LEDs will be driven with more than 200W pulses to produce extremely bright flashes.
